iBooks and iMovie may not be the only apps making their way to the just-released iPhone 4. A high-profile screenshot leak indicates that the shipping version of iOS 4 might include the ability to open iWork presentations directly in the Keynote app. Knowing that the iWork apps run only on Macs and iPad, we can only conclude that the iWork suite is arrive to either just the iPhone 4 or all iOS 4-enabled devices. And no, it wasn’t an unknown tipster that fed an Apple-focused blog the supposedly genuine screenshot.
MacRumors warned that the screenshot in question belongs to Apple itself, found in a refreshed section of their website that describes how email attachments can be opened in third-party applications:
As an example, Apple has included an image showing a presentation with a dialog box asking if the user would like to open the attachment in Keynote.
The new promotional image showing an option of opening Keynote on the iPhone suggests that the company may be preparing to roll out an iPhone version of the iWork suite, although the company made no mention of such plans during today’s keynote address at WWDC.
Apple replaced the screenshot with a new image showing the “Open in iBooks” option instead. So, what did you make of it? Was it just a human error?
